Bring­ing together tools picked up at both Ver­sace and cult-favorite Cloak, Alexan­dre Plokhov presents his spring 2012 col­lec­tion at Roden Gray, offering a sharp balance of wearable standards and bold statement pieces. Known for a darker, sometimes more severe aesthetic, Plokhov has combined inspirations from the military and modern architecture with a lighter touch to produce a collection with a youth­ful sports­wear feel.

Our favourite pieces include the pleated Combat Trouser and an aviator inspired leather bomber, and his breezy T’s and tailored shirting will be a welcome addition for those seeking a more unique and distinctive look for Spring 2012.

New at Roden Gray is the Spring/Summer 2012 collection from Barena Venezia.

Since the firm’s beginnings in 1961 the artisans at Barena have drawn their inspiration from the functional, versatile, clothing traditionally worn by the city’s lagunari - the hunters, fishermen, and the like who unconsciously helped create the refined yet casual Venetian style we know today. The name of the brand, in fact, comes from the Celtic barre: the territory in the Venetian lagoon between land and water.

Today Barena still represents traditional Venetian elegance with a focus on slim fits, detailed construction, and beautiful Italian fabrics that are often reproduced from the archives of the most prestigious mills in Veneto.

New at Roden Gray is our first delivery from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection from nonnative.

Since 1999, nonnative has been one of the most successful up-and-coming Tokyo based brands. Almost entirely manufactured in Japan, the fabrication and attention to detail is top notch. Current designer Takayuki Fuji creates with great freedom each season and thus each collection has a distinct sense of place and theme.

Past collections’ themes have included sourcing from an archive of blue-collar workwear and outdoor gear. Easy to wear, easy to pair, the nonnative man is all about timeless pieces that are masculine and built to last.
